FAQ

  • What is a Holistic Nutritionist?

Holistic nutrition focuses on a natural approach to a healthy diet and considers the individual as a whole, including all aspects of their lifestyle. This approach emphasizes the connection between mind, body, and spirit.

  • Dietician vs Nutritionist, what's the difference?

Registered Dietitians (RDs) in British Columbia are regulated to provide clinical nutrition therapy—Government funded in hospital settings or specific medical conditions.

Holistic nutritionists (like me, RHNP) take a broader, lifestyle-driven approach, blending evidence-based guidance with mind-body tools such as Reiki.
Both can be valuable; choose the one that matches your goals and wellness philosophy.

  • What is Reiki?

Reiki is a gentle energy healing practice that promotes relaxation, reduces stress, and supports the body’s natural healing processes. It can be done with either a hands-on approach (light touch on specific areas of the body) or a hands-off approach (hands hovering just above the body). Both are equally effective—it's all about what you’re most comfortable with.

  • How long does it take to see results?

Every body is different. Some Vancouver and Tri-Cities clients notice shifts—better sleep, calmer mood—within a week or two; others see gradual changes over a month or more. We review progress every visit and fine-tune as needed.

  • Can I schedule for Reiki only?

Absolutely. Many local clients drop in just for an energy “reset.”

  • Can I schedule for Nutrition only?

Yes—virtual or in-person consults are available for residents of Vancouver, Coquitlam and beyond.

  • How do I prepare for my first Reiki appointment?

Wear comfy layers. You’ll stay fully clothed during the session.

Eat light & hydrate. A small meal keeps you present without feeling heavy.

Bring an open mind. Some people feel warmth or tingling; others simply feel calm—every response is welcome.

Plan a gentle wind-down. A short walk around Lafarge Lake (Coquitlam) or along the Seawall (Vancouver) helps the benefits settle in.

That’s it—no special rituals, diets, or stretches required. Just come as you are and let the session do the work.

  • Is Reiki safe during pregnancy?

Yes. Reiki’s light-touch, non-invasive nature makes it suitable throughout pregnancy. Local hospitals in Vancouver have even integrated it for prenatal comfort. Always inform your midwife or OB and let me know so we can position you side-lying or seated for maximum ease.

  • What can a holistic nutritionist help with?

Energy & focus: Build meal and supplement strategies that keep blood-sugar steady, banish mid-afternoon crashes, and sharpen mental clarity.

Digestive comfort: Address bloating, IBS, acid reflux, and food sensitivities by pinpointing triggers, restoring gut flora, and guiding gentle elimination or re-introduction plans.

Hormone balance: Support PMS, fertility, perimenopause, menopause, or low testosterone with targeted nutrients, lifestyle tweaks, and stress-reducing practices.

Inflammation & immunity: Create anti-inflammatory protocols for joint pain, autoimmune flares, allergies, or post-viral fatigue.

Skin health & tattoo prep/recovery: Optimize collagen production, wound healing, and pigment longevity so new ink heals clean and vibrant.

Weight & body-composition goals: Offer evidence-based guidance—no crash diets—tailored to your metabolism, activity level, and relationship with food.

Nervous-system resilience for empaths & high-stress lifestyles: Use nutrient therapy plus mind-body tools (like Reiki, if you choose) to calm the adrenals and lift mood.

Athletic performance & recovery: Fine-tune macros, hydration, and micronutrients to enhance strength, endurance, and post-workout repair.

Everyday longevity: Translate lab results, supplement aisles, and conflicting headlines into a clear, sustainable plan that fits your real life in Vancouver (or wherever you are).

In short, a holistic nutritionist looks at the whole you—food, sleep, stress, environment—and designs practical steps that help you feel stronger, clearer, and more at home in your own body.
